The Role

CorPower is looking for a dynamic Project Simulations Engineer to join a fast-growing and successful team to lead delivery of FEED (Front End Engineering Design) projects from yield and survivability perspectives. The role requires a strong engineering mindset combined with a customer-first approach. This is a dynamic role where no day is the same and in which one must be comfortable reacting to a fast-paced environment where solutions must be found quickly through agile management, solid problem solving and sound engineering judgement. You will join the Systems and Analysis team and its highly collaborative group of systems, numerical modelling and control engineers. The role will be working closely with the project office, interacting with our customers as well as with all engineering teams, requiring strong collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pre-FEED & FEED projects to provide yield and survivability assessments to our customers
  • Combine engineering and project management needs
  • Define simulation needs together with customer and project management and perform simulations, data analysis and reporting
  • Go through customer feedback and inform design teams when appropriate
  • Represent CorPower at various events/customer meetings/presentations (travelling is part of the role)
  • Point of contact in Systems and Analysis team for pre-FEED and FEED matters
  • Support pilot installations in the field

Skills and qualifications

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant numerical modelling experience. Our main modelling tools today are Simulink and Orcaflex, and we also use matlab and Python
  • You love to extract and analyze data from large datasets and to present your results
  • You have a broad technical knowledge of complex machines, and genuine interest in the different aspects of offshore renewable energy
  • You are used to interacting with customers on technical topics
  • You are a fast learner able to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Industrial experience from complex machines with high reliability is qualifying
  • Experience from fast-paced development companies is meritorious
  • Experience of offshore environment is qualifying
  • Experience of collaborative programming and version control systems is qualifying
  • Awareness and understanding of yield assessments and Levelized Cost of Energy (LCoE) is also a plus
