Ocean Career: Fugro Technical Writer–Marine

The Technical Writer will be responsible to document technical information to non-technical audiences in an organized and concise manner. The successful candidate will bring a uniform tone to internal and external documentation to ensure a clear and consistent corporate message.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain CRM and IMS systems
  • Standardize proposals, project plans, and reports, maintaining and publishing document templates that adhere to corporate guidelines
  • Assist in the writing/development of proposals, project plans, and reports
  • Provide as-needed proofreading and editing support
  • Develop text for use in news releases, marketing brochures, advertisements, etc.
  • Provide local project management support
  • Document tasks to supplement standard operating procedures and work instructions as needed
  • Draft how-to guides and instruction manuals
  • Review existing documents for accuracy and applicability and revise accordingly

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Technical Writing, English, &/or Industrial Technology/Engineering preferred
  • Have 3 or more years of relevant work experience in procedure writing and document control
  • Exceptional verbal / written communication and grammatical skills
  • Ability to work in a shop and field environment to collect data and pictures; and work in an office environment on a computer writing and creating the documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; experience in Adobe InDesign
  • SharePoint and/or other file storage and sharing systems
  • Experience with video and related video editing programs preferred
