General Information
Incumbents may be required to travel to remote locations for fish tagging, trapping,
spawning or sampling operations. This position involves standing and working in cold water for up to eight hours per shift; lifting and carrying equipment with or without reasonable accommodations weighing up to 60 pounds; operate four-wheel drive and off-road vehicles in rugged terrain; and working in extreme weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Some knowledge of life history, anatomy, and ecology of various fish species.
- Experience recording, summarizing, and analyzing scientific data; diagnosing and
repairing minor mechanical problems. - Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- assist with trapping, spawning and rearing of Bonneville Cutthroat Trout
- weighing daily ration of fish feed & feeding fish
- cleaning rearing vessels, maintaining grounds & equipment
- operating fish loading & transport truck, stocking fish
- collecting biological data relating to fisheries management and research
- performing fish rearing activities; perform related work.
Compensation: starting at $17.32 per hour
