Responsibilities include assisting the PI and other lab personnel with experiments, general lab maintenance, microscopy, data analysis, animal care, purchasing, and administrative tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
- Applicants should have at a minimum an undergraduate degree (B.S. or B.A.) in any of the following biological or physical sciences: Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or other similar field.
- Must have a strong background and proficiency in biology and enjoy working in a collaborative team with others.
- Must know standard laboratory practices and be familiar with general laboratory equipment.
- Coding skills are a plus.
- Must have some experience with imaging, molecular biology, and/or bioinformatics.
- Must be highly motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
This position requires the individual to work occasionally at night or on weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of prior experience working on interdisciplinary research and will have direct experience with basic molecular biological tools and techniques.
Experience in developmental biology or bioinformatics a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Minimal exposure to biohazardous chemicals. Occasional lifting of heavy objects (<30 pounds).
