The Last Spirit Bears

An enormous decline of wild Pacific Salmon in Northwest America has meant that only a few hundred Spirit bears (also known as Kermode bears) now exist in coastal British Columbia.

Cherly Lyn Dynas joins scientists in the field to discover the factors impacting salmon in this region, and how environmental DNA is being used to monitor the population and determine the future of this rare, salmon-dependent bear.
