Shoreline/Inland Response and SCAT Surveys

The mini-course is designed for planners and decision makers and highlights the key concepts of a combined Shoreline /River Assessment (SCAT) survey program. Emphasis will be placed on pre-SCAT surveys and on the continuing phased role of SCAT from the first response through the sign-off process and how the various Spill Management Team (SMT) components and stakeholders are integrated into the program. The course includes coastal, lake, river and inland spill response situations.

Spill Management Team Exercise Planning

This course will provide attendees with the latest best practices on planning, conducting and evaluating exercises for Spill Management Teams. It includes information on the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) and how to apply its principles.

Spill Risk Assessment and Spill Contingency Planning

This workshop course provides attendees with fundamental concepts on developing a quantitative spill risk assessment foundation for oil spill contingency plan development and preparedness. The course provides an overview of spill scenario modeling, example spill risk assessment criteria and approaches to defining the most common spills to realistic worst-case situations, maximum likely spills and including spills from marine vessels, offshore drilling units, production facilities, pipelines, trains and terminals.

Maritime Homeland Security Challenges including Terrorism Threats
This workshop will cover emerging maritime domain issues, including:
• Training and exercise requirements for CBRNE incidents
• Risk management practices
• Budget constraints and competing demands
• Resource requirements
• Enhancing interagency relationships

Modeling Tools and Methods for Quantifying and Managing Spill Risk for Oil Operations

Do you need to evaluate and implement risk mitigation measures to prevent spills and minimize spill impacts through effective response planning? This workshop will address both sides of the risk equation – probability and consequences – and their respective mitigation, through the use of state-of-the-art modeling tools to analyze, quantify, and manage spill risk from all phases of your oil operations.
