Ocean Career: NOC Applied Scientist – Deep Sea Biology

NOC is recruiting an applied scientist in the area of deep-sea ecology, specifically related to the environments of interest to deep-sea industry.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse, dynamic, and innovative team tasked with bringing additional commercial projects in core areas of excellence for NOC science. The role will primarily work alongside core science teams, other applied scientists and the sustainable business development team at NOC. The role will be a commercially-facing scientist, who will be involved in applied research.

About You

You will have experience in driving the generation of new partnerships and income for research projects.

Ideally you will have experience and knowledge of working in the marine environment, specifically the deep-sea, through participation in research expeditions, subsequent analysis of scientific data and reporting.

This role would be ideal for someone who is already working on applied science, for example in a marine environmental consultancy, or is an experienced scientist looking for more exposure to the commercial sector.

Location

This position will be based in Southampton.

Salary

£50,017 per year
