Ocean Career: Nortek Sales Support Engineer

Nortek designs, develops, and produces scientific instruments that apply the Doppler principle to underwater acoustics in order to measure water in motion, such as currents and waves.

Job Role

Your main task will be to support the Nortek UK sales team in promoting Nortek’s instrumentation across a broad range of market segments. You will be involved in the sales process from lead generation to after sales support which requires good organization and communication skills throughout. Ensuring client satisfaction and upholding Nortek’s values of being Smart, Innovative and Responsive underpin our approach to sales.

Additionally, within this Sales Support Engineer role, you will be responsible for processing sales orders and documentation, providing regular and informative updates on orders to customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process sales leads
  • Collaborate with the sales team
  • Handle sales of spare parts and accessories
  • Support sales team in handling RMAs and provide updates as necessary
  • Monitor customer accounts and take the appropriate action
  • Ensure the information contained within the CRM is accurate and reliable at all times
  • Handle shipments to and from Nortek including import/export documentation
  • Interface between Nortek support and customers to ensure high quality after sales support.
  • Attend client meetings with the Sales Team and provide support as necessary
  • Provide support for events, demonstrations, and training seminars
  • Engage with clients to assess equipment needs and determine requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A relevant degree in engineering, science, or business from a recognized university
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • An inquisitive mind and desire to continuously improve behavior skills
  • Achieve customer satisfaction through engagement and delivery of best possible end to end service
  • Strong IT and communication skills
  • Cooperate well with others and participates willingly in team activities and discussions
  • Delivers professional service with a customer first attitude

Additional Information

This is a full-time position. Based in our Southampton office, reporting directly to the Nortek UK Director. Full training will be provided. Some travel is expected in this role including to Nortek AS in Oslo, Norway.
