Ocean Career: Project Manager at the University of New Hampshire

The University of New Hampshire seeks a Project Manager to help manage the Atlantic Marine Energy Center (AMEC) to manage and oversee the newly established Atlantic Marine Energy Center from a fiscal, operational and administrative perspective, under the direction of the project Principal Investigator (P.I.).

This position will work closely with AMEC team on establishing AMEC as an organization, planning and coordination of AMEC activities with partner universities and collaborators. Provide oversight of budget and operations of the center. Coordinate with AMEC P.I., Co-P.I.s and sponsoring agency, the Department of Energy’s Water Power Technology Office (DOE WPTO), to achieve AMEC objectives as outlined in the Statement of Project Objectives (SOPO). Manage project reporting and communications, and coordinate with marine energy and blue economy industry and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project plans and execution, in response to sponsor program requirements described in DOE FOA 2234 Topic Area 2 and the AMEC Statement of Project Objectives (SOPO) developed by the AMEC team in close collaboration with DOE Water Power Technology Office (WPTO), under the direction of the project P.I.
  • Develop, track, update and report the status of the project schedules and cost; assess and manage project risks, margins and reserves; coordinate project subcontractor tasks; and meet contract obligations.
  • Serve as primary administrative contact on all project related issues internally to UNH and to subawardees and collaborators.
  • Manage the preparation of publications, reports and records on project activities, progress, and events, including quarterly reporting to sponsor DOE.
  • Develop and write project promotional/informational communications, including web pages and social media sites.
  • Develop, facilitate, and/or present workshops, events, seminars, meetings, and/or conferences in support of project.
  • Participate in meetings with sponsor, including travel (1-2 times per year)

Bachelor’s degree

Year’s experience required

3-5 years
