We seek a dynamic early career professional to manage the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (GBMF) Science Monitoring and Reliable Telecommunications (SMART) Subsea Cable Project and to achieve the vision for SMART Cables: Sensors integrated into subsea telecommunications cables becoming the world standard, leading to a global network for sustained ocean observation, geophysical study of earthquakes, and earthquake and tsunami warning in a world with rising sea levels.

The Project Manager, working with the PI/Director and assisted by staff, will organize and manage eight subawardees and other participants to achieve the three project outcomes: observing system simulations and modeling, implement the SMART system between Vanuatu and New Caledonia, and establish and run the international project office for Joint Task Force Scientific Monitoring And Reliable Telecommunications (JTF SMART) cables to facilitate adoption of scientific sensors in all new telecommunications cables to reach a global scale.

SMART Cables are a new way of observing the oceans on global scale – help lead it forward to fruition!
