Deadline: 21 March 2017
The 2017 NOAA Sea Grant National Aquaculture Initiative includes two competitive funding opportunities.
- Integrated Projects to Increase Aquaculture Production
- Addressing Impediments to Aquaculture Opportunities
Proposals must be submitted by California Sea Grant or another state Sea Grant program.
Integrated Projects to Increase Aquaculture Production
This aquaculture research competition is designed to foster the expansion of sustainable U.S. marine, coastal, and Great Lakes aquaculture.
Addressing Impediments to Aquaculture Opportunities
This Federal Funding Opportunity’s program objective is focused on answering key questions impeding the development and expansion of sustainable United States marine, coastal, and Great Lakes aquaculture. This can be accomplished with research, education, technology transfer, and/or extension. Successful applications must outline small scale projects, business plans, workshops, etc. that seek to address key questions, barriers, or hurdles impeding the advancement of new or developing aquaculture initiatives that will contribute to the continuing growth of United States aquaculture production.
IMPORTANT GUIDANCE FOR CALIFORNIA INVESTIGATORS
The National Sea Grant Office expects all investigators to work with a state Sea Grant program to develop proposals and to integrate the work, to the extent possible, with local Sea Grant staff.
