Call for Entries: Ocean for Climate Photo / Video Contest

Share #OceanForClimate in a fun and original way by taking a picture or a video of yourself and you could be featured on the Ocean & Climate Platform website and win prizes.

Whether it is a sign, acrobatics or a message in the sand, all the pictures and videos sent by 31 August will be visible on the platform’s website and social networks. The most original picture and /or video will receive a special prize at the beginning of the the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21/CMP11), otherwise known as “Paris 2015.”

The Paris 2015 conference will run from 30 November to 11 December and will be a crucial conference to achieving a new international agreement on the climate, applicable to all countries, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C.

In advance of Paris 2015, the world is invited to share its commitment and support for the oceans in the climate system with via a photo contest and the hashtag #OceanForClimate.

Each participant will have his picture or video posted on the page of the Ocean & Climate Platform’s website. Each week, the best picture or video will be shared on the Platform’s social networks. Your picture or your video will testify your commitment for a better awareness of the Ocean in the climate action. The jury will select the best picture / video based on the following criteria: the clarity and the quality of the photo / video and the “staging”, the visibility and how the #OceanForClimate is highlighted.

As Ocean and Climate are strongly interconnected systems, the decisions made at Paris 2015 should deeply impact the marine environment as well as the millions of people who depend on it. By spreading the word, you can help raise awareness about the Platform and encourage an ambitious Paris Agreement in support of a healthy ocean, and consequently, a more stable global climate system.
