Key Responsibilities
- Support AMCC’s fisheries policy and program work by monitoring activity at the North Pacific Fishery Management Council, Board of Fisheries, and related processes; summarizing materials and assisting with drafting public comments, testimony, and briefing materials
- Coordinate program implementation, including tracking timelines and deliverables, supporting logistics for meetings, and maintaining internal systems to track projects and activities
- Support outreach and engagement with fishermen, coastal communities, and partners, including coordinating public participation in meetings, testimony, and events, and maintaining contact lists and communications
- Support planning and execution of events, workshops, and trainings
- Contribute to communications by assisting with newsletters, blog posts, and other materials, helping translate fisheries issues into clear, accessible language
- Lead development and production of the Alaska Young Fishermen’s Almanac, including coordinating contributors, managing timelines, and supporting content creation
- Assist with grant reporting, program documentation, and general administrative support across program areas
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience in fisheries, marine science, environmental policy, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong interest in Alaska fisheries and fishing communities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working in a fully remote work environment
- Willingness to travel within Alaska as needed
- Commitment to contributing to a respectful, collaborative work environment and representing AMCC with professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic
Location: Alaska-based; remote office
Salary: $55,000+ DOE, plus benefits
