DUTIES:
The Fisheries Research and Monitoring Division at PIFSC is looking for an individual to help us more fully understand management and assessment options for non-target management unit species in Hawai’i fisheries. These species are an important component of the catch and but uncertainty around their ecology makes assessment and the effectiveness of management unclear. We are looking for an individual interested in translating ecological scenarios into operating models so that assessment and management options can be explored.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. from an accredited college or university in Fisheries, Computational Biology, Computational Marine Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field of study. Experience in developing and applying quantitative approaches to fisheries in support of fisheries assessment. Extensive knowledge of R, SS3, or TMB for fisheries analysis related to fisheries assessment.
SALARY: $5,600 – $6,300/mo. commensurate with qualifications
