Ocean Career: CSA Ocean Sciences Marine Science Business Development

CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA), a global leader in marine and environmental consulting, is seeking a dynamic and globally minded International Business Development Representative – Marine & Environmental Science Services to expand CSA’s presence in international environmental markets. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong science background and excels at connecting technical science services with coastal development, environmental restoration, and policy implementation opportunities across diverse sectors and geographies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a science-business connector, promoting CSA’s capabilities in marine habitat restoration, nature-based coastal protection, marine spatial planning, water quality and biodiversity monitoring, and environmental permitting to various sectors including:
    • Coastal infrastructure and port development
    • Marine conservation and blue carbon projects
    • International development, donor-funded programs, and NGOs
    • Tourism and resort developments
    • Climate adaptation and coastal resilience initiatives
    • Academic and governmental partnerships
  • Lead international marketing entry strategies, identifying project opportunities such as those in the Middle East, North and East Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
  • Track international tenders, grants, and multilateral funding initiatives (e.g., World Bank, United Nations initiatives, individual country initiatives) and develop partnerships for consortia-based bids.
  • Represent CSA at trade shows, donor briefings, scientific and conservation conferences, and international development forums.
  • Prepare high-quality capability statements, technical proposals, and cost estimates tailored to non-energy stakeholders and compliance needs.
  • Build in-country and/or regional teaming arrangements to support international projects
  • Coordinate with CSA’s scientists and legal/logistics teams to ensure project feasibility, regulatory alignment, and regional appropriateness.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Marine Science, Environmental Science, Oceanography, Environmental Policy, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in international consulting, business development, or technical project sales focused on marine environmental, conservation, infrastructure, or development programs.
  • Familiarity with international development and procurement processes (e.g., UN, USAID, IDB).
  • Demonstrated experience navigating complex stakeholder environments including industry, government agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, and community groups.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills; additional language skills (e.g., Arabic, Spanish, French) are highly advantageous.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and work across time zones.
