Ocean Career: Deep BV Mechatronics & Survey Engineer

Deep is looking for a tech-savvy, hands-on and eager-to-learn engineer with both mechanical and electronic affinity to support our survey operations.

Deep BV has an extensive range of high-quality hydrographic and geophysical survey equipment. Much of it is owned by Deep, some of it is rental equipment and we design and assemble equipment in-house.

As a Mechatronics & Survey Engineer, you are responsible for:

  • Performing maintenance, repair and development of specialized survey equipment.
  • Designing and assembling mechanical and electronic systems related to our survey vessels and equipment.
  • Supporting project teams by testing and mobilizing survey equipment, ensuring functionality and availability.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in the workshop and onboard survey vessels to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Contributing to the innovation and reliability of our technical systems.


Your workplace is in our well-equipped workshop in Amsterdam-Noord or on board of our survey vessels.

WHO WE LOOK FOR

We are looking for a solution-oriented, structured, and stress-resistant engineer who can work independently but also enjoys teamwork.

You bring:

  • Higher professional education (HBO/BSc/BEng) with an engineering background.
  • Knowledge of and experience with telecommunication, data communication and equipment interfacing.
  • 3+ years of work experience as an engineer, preferably in the maritime sector.
  • Good communicative skills.
  • Strong proficiency in (technical) English, Dutch is a plus;
  • Living within commuting distance of Amsterdam or willing to relocate.
  • Willingness to work outside office hours and locations when needed.
  • Availability: 0.8-1.0 FTE (32-40 hours working week).
