Coordinates and assists with the management of technical projects including the development and population of grant management applications and in the use of OCULUS. Consults with and assists applicants with the development of scopes of work for planning grant-funded projects.
Reviews planning project deliverables for sound resilience and adaptation aspects and recommends acceptance/rejection. Manages and tracks assigned planning projects.
Functions as primary planning contact for assigned grant-funded projects.
Provides consultative and technical assistance to local governments. Develops and provides presentations and outreach as needed. Coordinates and facilitates informational workshops and webinars as needed.
Prepares and maintains accurate reports and records describing activities in the assigned area of responsibility. Assists in the development of program materials.
The incumbent may need to travel to local governments to accomplish duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of climate change and resilience-related concepts, such as sea level rise causes and effects, adaptation strategies.
- Knowledge of urban and regional planning concepts.
- Knowledge of applicable Florida statutes.
- Knowledge of floodplain management concepts.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and negotiate effectively.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to apply critical thinking for planning problems.
- Ability to independently exercise sound judgement performing duties.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to provide technical assistance to Department staff, local governments, and other external stakeholders.
- Ability to represent the Department on committees and provide effective presentations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least six years of verifiable related experience. Post-secondary degrees may be used as an alternative for the required six years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A credential evaluation report from an approved agency must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.
