Ocean Career: Fugro Marine Proposal Specialist

Fugro’s geophysical service line specializes in mapping the ocean floor and subsurface environments using advanced sonar and remote sensing technologies. These surveys are critical for understanding geological conditions, supporting offshore infrastructure, and ensuring safe and efficient project planning. The Proposal Specialist is responsible for the preparation of tenders and proposals, and Business Development in specific regions, under the guidance and advice of the Commercial Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • Works with Department Manager in submission of proposals and pre-qualification documents to a professional standard and assists operations at project start-up in preparation of project budgets and cash flows n Maintains knowledge of new techniques/technologies through continuous professional development.
  • Financial Performance and maintains a database of cost information and compile proposals n Provides information for Profit Plan n Maintains tender files.
  • Client Relationships and follows up with clients that have received proposals n Advises on requirements for marketing materials n Initiates client contacts and maintain client database.
  • Business Development and assist Commercial Manager in sale of services and business development.
  • QHSSE & Compliance and ensure accordance to company standards, industry standards, QHSSE policy and local regulations n Performs project risk analysis if potential risk identified.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in Canada, without restrictions.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport, possible international travel/assignments may be required.
  • Posses a Bachelors degree in Surveying, GIS Engineering, Geophysics, Marine Sciences, or related discipline.
  • Have 5 years or more of offshore industry experience.
  • Have 3 years or more of tendering, contract, or project management experience.
  • Possess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of software applications (including but not limited to MS Office)
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows operating system, including but not limited to Windows 7.
  • Must have excellent and effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
