The Site Manager is responsible for the leadership of their assigned drilling operation and as such leads and coordinates the work of the crews on the given projects. This role is tasked with directing work regarding to geotechnical drilling operations and overall project support and execution.

Job Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for the culture and engagement at the drilling operation, ensuring all proper personnel are hired and on-boarded appropriately and all proper training and coaching is taking place. Responsible for the development of crew members.
  • Plans and schedules the delivery of materials needed for drilling, such as special tools and/or components and expendable materials.
  • Leads and promotes Corporate Safety Standards in all aspects of the work performed.
  • Supports the HSE management system and ensures all company policies and procedures are always followed during their work period.
  • Accountable to report all breaches of company policies to the appropriate personnel/ management team members.
  • Directs and coordinates all the drilling activities, in liaison with the Drilling Supervisor and other service companies as necessary.
  • Leads and supports the drilling supervisor, drillers, and additional crew in solving operational problems.
  • Work with Project Managers, Accounting/Finance, HR, and additional departments to successfully complete given geotechnical drilling operations and meet established deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work on location, without restrictions
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience as a site manager within a drilling operation
  • Must have experience with geotechnical drilling operations, methods, and language
  • Must have thorough knowledge of rig emergency signals and procedures.
  • Demonstrating excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work without supervision.
  • Must have good oral/written communication skills to effectively interact with Company representatives, vendors, and Rig personnel.
  • Must have good management and organizational skills.
  • Must understand and interpret data presented in statistical or numerical form and be able to use if effectively in leading all operational aspects of the rig assigned.
  • Must be detail oriented and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Travel requirements up to 20% for this role.
