The Offshore Surveyor will assist with and learn the setup, testing, calibration, and operation of a variety of survey and positioning systems. They will also gain an awareness of engineering, processing, and marine disciplines.
Job Responsibilities

- Ensure that all onshore and offshore activities are carried out with the highest regard for the health and safety of all involved and for the protection of the environment and the prevention of pollution.
- Assist with setup, interface, test, calibrate and operate survey sensors.
- Operate online survey software and monitor the data quality to ensure the survey specification is achieved, bringing non-conformances to the attention of the supervisor.
- Collect, collate, and present results from multiple survey sensors.
- Assist with the preparation of various reports including mobilization and calibration reports.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate vessel survey logs.
- Attend project briefings, daily meetings, and safety meetings as appropriate.
- Gain experience with processing software and techniques.
- Develop skills across various offshore disciplines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
- Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.
- Possess an Associate’s degree or higher in Surveying, GIS, Geophysics, and/or a technical discipline preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to pass an OGUK physical and a DOT drug screen.
- Must possess a current BOSIET certification or be able to complete it within 3 weeks of employment.
- Must be willing and able to work offshore for 4-6 weeks at a time required.
- Offshore, military experience or technical training is a plus.
- Must have a driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
