Fugro’s Geoconsulting service line offers expertise in guiding data collection programs, exploring ocean basins, interpreting seafloor geomorphology, conducting environmental and geochemical studies, analyzing geohazards, and advising on foundation design and routing pipelines and cables. The Senior Engineer will oversee complex projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety in testing and reporting. They must adhere to Company procedures and QHSSE policies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • Work closely with the Regional Manager, Technical Manager, Quality Manager, Programme Manager, and Lab personnel to further develop the laboratories.
  • Collaborate effectively with field teams to ensure lab testing aligns with project needs and timelines.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, explaining test procedures, results, and implications in a way that builds confidence and trust.
  • Possess advanced understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, foundation engineering, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems, such as designing foundations for complex soil conditions or assessing landslide risks.
  • Guide junior engineers through complex technical challenges, helping them understand geotechnical concepts, design methodologies, and field practices.
  • Encourage initiative and innovation, allowing team members to contribute ideas and take ownership of their work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineeing, required. Master’ degree preferred.
  • Have 3 or more year’s experience working in a geotechnical or construction materials laboratory and performing tests is highly desired.
  • A comprehensive understanding of soil mechanics, foundation design, site investigation, and geotechnical analysis is required.
  • Previous experience leading and motivating multi-disciplinary teams is highly desired.
  • Must be able to offer advice, feedback, coaching, and development while inspiring and overseeing performance.
