As the Technical Sales Advisor, you will be the go-to expert for our customers by playing a crucial role in driving sales and fostering customer relationships. As the first point of contact, you will manage our existing customer base while generating new opportunities. With a strong technical background, you will generate competitive quotes and proposals, gather customer feedback, and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly and yearly sales targets through strategic planning, organization, and execution.
  • Produce accurate and competitive quotes, proposals and tenders tailored to customer needs.
  • Demonstrate high standards of customer service while managing an existing portfolio of accounts, ensuring ongoing customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Act as the first point of contact for customers, while addressing inquiries and providing prompt, accurate information about our products and services.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and departments to ensure customer needs are met and information is accurate.
  • Continuously follow up with existing customers to address any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain a consistent cadence of customer feedback calls to gather insight and improve service quality.
  • Grow a global list of customers and strengthen market awareness by attending networking events, trade shows, and customer visits.
  • Identify new business opportunities and generate leads within the ocean technology and defense sector.
  • Continuously upgrade product knowledge through internal and external training opportunities.
  • Stay up to date on the latest advancements in the ocean technology industry.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or related industry experience.
  • Proven experience in technical sales, preferably within the ocean technology or naval defense industry.
  • Familiarity with acoustic sound sources, sonar systems, and their applications is an asset.
  • Strong technical knowledge and the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Excellent communication presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite including Excel and PowerBI.
  • Tech-savvy and willingness to learn new skills and technology.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Willing to travel domestically or internationally as required.
  • Must hold a valid Canadian Passport

Security Requirements

All candidates must be eligible to apply for and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security Clearance.
