As the Modelling Consultant, you will have an interest in solving environmental challenges in rivers, lakes, estuaries and marine waters using predictive models, advanced data analysis and management tools.  We are looking for people with inquisitive minds who are enthused by the prospect of building scientific argument to address complex real-world challenges.  You should enjoy liaising directly with clients, regulators and stakeholders and be comfortable managing work packages or projects.  You should also enjoy working in a cohesive team with other gifted individuals and be excited by the prospect of developing practical and quantified leading-edge solutions.

Required skills and experience:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical subject
  • Ideally you will bring experience in at least one modelling package such as DELFT3D or MIKE, but we are also keen to learn about other skills that would help to broaden our expertise, for example experience of the application of InfoWorks ICM.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
  • Familiarity with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems and compliance requirements for offshore projects.

Delivery examples include coastal and estuarine hydrodynamic and/or water quality modelling, bathing and shellfish water assessments, Water Framework Directive and UPM assessments, delivering the Environment Act, tidal energy optimization and impact modelling and environmental consent modelling.
