The candidate will perform routine laboratory tasks, including sea star animal care, preparation of solutions, autoclaving, reagent ordering and overall lab management. Additional responsibilities will include maintenance of sea star larvae until juveniles, developing protocols for single-cell RNA sequencing and performing HCRs to visualize gene expression.
This position will also involve working on a project that investigates how organs acquire their shape and orientation. This is a one-year position that can be renewed.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in biology or another related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior work with marine invertebrates, familiarity with single cell RNA-seq, and basic bioinformatic knowledge would be a plus. The projects will require more than a year to be completed and candidates who are available to join the lab for at least 2 years are preferred.
