Duties
As a Supervisory Program Manager, you will perform the following duties:
- Serve as the Science and Geospatial Division Chief, overseeing the strategic leadership and oversight of the Digital Coast Program and Partnership. Oversee the coordination and application of geospatial data, tools, and technologies for coastal resource management. Represent the Office of Coastal Management (OCM) by facilitating scientific understanding, information exchange, and support agency objectives to internal and external organizations.
- Provide program direction regarding the scope and impact of program alignment with the National Ocean Service’s (NOS) priorities. Conduct program review and analysis to identify areas where vulnerabilities are occurring and determine required corrective action. Apply geospatial technologies to address coastal management challenges.
- Exercise full supervisory authority over a diverse group of employees, including evaluating work performance, developing performance standards, and managing the division’s workforce through career development opportunities. Oversee the recruiting and promotion of personnel and approve recommended organizational change proposals.
Qualifications
To qualify at the ZA-5 or GS-15 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZA-4 or GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
- Formulating solutions or procedures that apply science and geospatial technologies to lessen impacts of issues to resource management or environmental programs;
- Providing policy and technical advice on coastal and ocean issues; and
- Overseeing staff or a program in areas such as project planning, assigning work, setting priorities, providing feedback on work assignments, providing feedback regarding overall employee performance, etc.
Salary range: $147,945 – $197,200 per year
