Responsibilities:
- Test, inspect, investigate, and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures on customer vessels
- Perform routine maintenance on inboard, stern drive, and outboard motors
- Recognize safety issues and present findings to the service department for customer awareness and increased sales
- Repair and replace OEM and aftermarket components when applicable
- Install electronics and accessories
- Perform river tests for quality assurance
- Examine boat and discuss the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service advisor or customer
- Perform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine engines and transmissions and drives
- Perform Mechanical Repair Work, such as
- Remove engine, transom, or outdrive
- Disassemble the unit and inspect parts for wear
- Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems
- Rebuild parts such as engine cylinder blocks
- Rewire ignition system, lights, and instrument panel
Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of marine motor mechanics and boat systems
- Two years minimum experience as a Marine Mechanic
- Able to perform installations and repairs per instructions and to specs
- Knowledge and practice of shop safety procedures
Salary: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
