Essential Job Functions:
- Work closely with the Analytical Chemist to collect, prepare, and analyze routine samples to support research, production, and quality efforts
- Assist the Analytical Chemist in the operation of various analytical instruments and methods such as GPC, UV-Vis, FTIR, DLS, TGA, combustion analysis and more
- Follow standard operating procedures and protocols for routine laboratory tests and assays
- Assists in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) as needed
- Execute experiments under the direction of senior laboratory researchers and project leaders
- Keep detailed and accurate records of laboratory experiments and results
- Input various laboratory records into electronic information system and keep up to date
- Assist or Author detailed and organized technical reports summarizing experimental procedures and data collected
- Work collaboratively with internal teams supported by the Analytical Chemist
- Work well independently or with minimal guidance; asks for guidance as needed
- Prioritize tasks and efforts to align with project leader(s) objectives
Routine Duties
- Prepare and run samples on various instrumentation
- Help maintain research equipment in proper working order
- Perform and monitor experiments as assigned
- Assist as needed to draft procedures and methods for validating performance of various instrumentation
- Attend/assist staff meetings, training or other company events as required/requested
- Performs other duties as assigned by Laboratory Manager, Leadership and project leaders
- Ensures all work areas are kept clean, organized, operational and safe for all team members, guests of Tidal Vision, and contractors
- Ensures that all work environments, practices, procedures and interactions are safe and productive
Routine Duties (Team Contribution):
- Washing glassware and other equipment
- Sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning, recycling & trash removal, scrubbing benches & sinks
- Conducting monthly/weekly safety inspections
- Attending team huddles & safety meetings
Basic Qualifications:
- Education minimum: Bachelor’s of Science degree, or five-plus years progressive technical experience with applicable education
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) or demonstrated ability to learn
- Read, understand, and follow safety rules and regulations
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.
- Critical thinking skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions
- Verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education preferred: B.Sc. with two or more years industry or laboratory experience in a technical field

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Most of the work is performed in a lab or warehouse setting with occasional travel to various facilities. Must be able to move throughout the lab, warehouse and office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, detect odors; and must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Required to wear PPE at appropriate times.
