Ocean Internship: UMASSD Coastal Systems Program

The Coastal Systems Program has opportunities to participate as part of the research effort in early spring and summer of 2025 and throughout the academic year (contingent on funding availability). Research areas include water quality monitoring, oyster aquaculture, nutrient cycling, coastal ecosystems, wetlands ecology, and ocean renewable energy. The applicant will participate in a wide range of field and laboratory work, including but not limited to nearshore and offshore sampling, citizen-based environmental monitoring, maintenance of long-term experiments in wetlands, sample preparation, and a wide variety of laboratory analytical procedures. This position will require field sampling multiple times a week. Some will require working alone while other work will require working as part of a field team. Applicant must be comfortable with sampling in streams, carrying up to 40lbs and sampling in various weather conditions. Some overnight and weekend hours may be required.
