Introducing Sustainability to Orkney’s Inshore Fishing Industry

In the very northeastern tip of Scotland lies the rugged, wind-swept coast of the Orkney archipelago.

Comprising over 70 remote islands, Orkney is surrounded by the North Sea to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Here, in this unique island environment, an 18-month project is underway by the Orkney Fisheries Association to develop resources that help local fishers make robust decisions about the sustainability of Orkney’s fishery.
