Okeanus Science and Technology, LLC (Okeanus), a leading developer of oceanographic and marine deck equipment for crewed and uncrewed vessels, announced the company’s successful ISO 9001:2015 certification of its quality management system (QMS).

Okeanus’ ISO 9001:2015 certification was awarded by the Internal Auditors Inc. (IAI) and accredited by North American Accreditation Bureau Inc. (NAAB). Okeanus’ QMS processes, policies, and procedures were evaluated for seven core quality management principles: 1) customer focus; 2) leadership; 3) engagement of people; 4) process approach; 5) continuous improvement; 6) evidence-based decision making; and 7) relationship management.

“We are delighted to officially receive our ISO 9001:2015 certification at an exciting time in Okeanus’ long-term growth plan,” said Okeanus Chief Operating Officer Don Brockett. “ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized quality management standard, and this certification serves as recognition of our continued dedication to quality improvement, increased efficiencies, and enhanced customer service as we seek to provide customers with best-in-class oceanographic winches, handling systems, launch and recovery systems (LARS), and other engineered products.”

The ongoing application and auditing of Okeanus’ QMS will help establish a validated framework for defining, improving, and controlling management processes; eliminating inefficiency while streamlining inputs; facilitating future training opportunities; galvanizing company-wide engagement and direction; and actively involving clients in a collaborative effort to optimize operational excellence, quality improvement, and accountability.
