Sentinel Subsea Triumphs at 2023 Offshore Achievement Awards

Sentinel Subsea, the passive well integrity monitoring specialist, has been crowned the winner of the Innovator Award in the prestigious 2023 Offshore Achievement Awards (OAAs) on March 16, 2023.

Having been shortlisted earlier in the year, the company was recognized by a judging panel of 30 industry experts for its outstanding commitment to lowering risk, reducing costs, and protecting the environment with its advanced passive integrity monitoring solutions.

Hosted and organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Aberdeen Section and supported by long-standing principal sponsor, TAQA, the annual awards ceremony represents the pinnacle of achievement in an industry currently undergoing significant change in its focus and ambition.

The OAAs are the biggest and longest-established oil, gas, and renewable energy industry awards for the UK offshore sector, covering all aspects from supply to upstream operations and offshore renewables. For over three decades, the awards have been celebrating and encouraging innovation and collaboration in the oil and gas industry in the North Sea.

The ‘innovator’ category rewards innovative technologies, growth in companies both large and small, and the significant contributions of individuals within the industry.

Receiving the award, Neil Gordon, CEO of Sentinel Subsea, said: “This is an amazing achievement for Subsea Sentinel and one that is a great demonstration of our core values. The awards celebrate the best and brightest talent our sector has to offer, we are so proud that the hard work of our expert team and the innovative role our technology plays in subsea assets and repurposed carbon capture sites has been recognized by the judges.

“We want to congratulate the other finalists and winners and thank SPE for this award.” Incorporated in 2018, Aberdeen-based Sentinel Subsea was established to aid operators globally in transitioning to a more sustainable future. With the increasing number of ageing subsea assets, the challenge of assuring and monitoring integrity is a key part of risk management for oil and gas operators. By removing the complexity of monitoring subsea assets, Sentinel Subsea’s easy-to-deploy passive systems provide reliable and continuous integrity monitoring without using active subsea power, routine systems checks or data communication.
