Ocean Career: Research Technician/Associate

Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences seeks a Research Technician/Associate to conduct biochemical analyses in support of Bigelow Analytical Services, as well as work on applied and fundamental science projects.

This position will include current method implementation, require some method development and testing, and involve a wide variety of analytical approaches. The successful candidate will need to carry out data handling, interpretation, and presentation of results. This person will also be responsible for instrument maintenance, laboratory upkeep, and customer relations. Salary is commensurate with demonstrated experience, ranging from $20-$34/hour, and comes with a generous benefits package including health care, retirement contribution, and paid time off.

Requirements:

  • BS degree or equivalent, including some chemistry and biochemistry education
  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience with analytical instrumentation
  • Ideally some fieldwork experience on coasts and/or in small boat
