Ocean Career: Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Fisheries Biologist III—Lamprey Biologist

The Willamette Lamprey Biologist will develop and implement lamprey projects/studies in the Willamette River Basin from the Willamette Falls Field office located in Oregon City.

Duties:

  • Oversee field technicians, lead field research studies for escapement estimates, harvest estimates, and larval distribution
  • Develop contract budgets and statements of work
  • Supervise project personnel
  • Represent the tribes at regional fisheries-related coordination meetings and working groups

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Fisheries Science or a closely related field and three years’ job-related experience or Bachelor of Science in Fisheries Science or a closely related field and five years of job-related experience
  • Project management and supervisory experience necessary
  • Extensive knowledge of:
    • Fishery management principles
    • Data analysis, statistics and population dynamics
    • Project management methods and techniques
    • Budget preparation and management
    • Federal permitting requirements

Salary: $46,443.00–$58,600 DOE
