Carbon to Sea Canada is particularly interested in work that advances three priority areas for OAE/RAE research in Canada:

1. Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification: improving the measurements and models needed to quantify carbon removal and assess its efficiency, durability, and scalability.

2. Environmental and ecological impacts: strengthening our understanding of how alkalinity enhancement—and different materials and delivery approaches—affects marine and river systems under realistic conditions.

3. Governance, communities, and decision-making: building the social, economic, regulatory, and governance evidence needed for responsible research, including meaningful engagement with Indigenous rights holders, host communities, and other affected parties.
