“Eta Process Plant has an impressive global position within deaeration and seawater injection systems. Having successfully utilized their leading expertise in vacuum deaeration on some of our sulfate removal unit projects, we are highly familiar with their capabilities and look forward to welcoming the business into Techouse,” said Svein Helge Pettersen, CEO of Techouse.
Techouse designs, engineers, and manufactures bespoke water treatment packages and heat recovery solutions for offshore applications and other energy markets. The company has offices in Norway, the UK, China, and Vietnam.
Deaeration Expert
Eta Process Plant was founded in 1972 and is one of the world’s leading suppliers of turnkey deaeration plants and packages, particularly for water injection systems. It offers vacuum deaeration systems, gas-strip deaeration systems, and complete water injection packages for onshore and offshore applications.
Deaeration is the process of removing dissolved gases, primarily oxygen, from water. In offshore and industrial applications, this helps safeguard critical production infrastructure, reduce corrosion-related risks, and support efficient, reliable field operations.
Eta Process Plant is headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, UK. With a similar business model to Techouse, Eta Process Plant manages engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning, while fabrication is conducted through trusted partners.
The acquisition represents a significant step in Techouse’s growth to date, increasing the scale of the business and adding an established operation with extensive experience, capabilities, and market presence, while further strengthening the company’s position in the global water treatment market.
“There is a very strong strategic and technical fit between Eta Process Plant and Techouse. Eta’s core expertise in deaeration, alongside our experience in filtration and water injection, is an excellent match for Techouse’s broader water treatment offering. Together, we can offer operators and EPC contractors a wider choice of technologies and more integrated water treatment solutions where required. We are excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to growing the business together as part of Techouse,” said Giles Cobley, Commercial Leader at Eta Process Plant.
Complementary Businesses
Today, Eta Process Plant has an installed base of more than 400 deaeration plants operating in locations ranging from Alaska to Australia. Its customers include oil and gas operators and EPC contractors.
While Techouse is primarily exposed to offshore oil and gas, Eta Process Plant has a strong footprint in both onshore and offshore energy. And while Techouse has its geographical strongholds in Europe and Asia, Eta Process Plant’s biggest market is currently in the Middle East.
“The two businesses complement each other when it comes to customer base, geographical presence, and market presence. We believe these are solid building blocks to develop an even stronger and less cyclical business,” added Svein Helge Pettersen.
From Koch-Glitsch
Techouse acquires Eta Process Plant from global engineering and technology company Koch-Glitsch, which is part of Koch Engineered Solutions, which in turn is part of the privately held US conglomerate Koch, Inc.
The transaction is structured as a carve-out of Eta Process Plant from Koch-Glitsch. The parties have agreed to not disclose the financial details of the transaction.
Eta Process Plant will become part of Techouse’s UK operation, which also has an office in Glasgow, Scotland.
