SEAMOR Marine was proud to partner with CERMIM (Centre de recherche sur les milieux insulaires et maritimes) to conduct Canada’s largest ever ghost gear recovery operation, LOREVA 2022. Our team worked closely with CERMIM operators to calibrate and customize their SEAMOR ROV ahead of the project launch.

Over the course of 104 dives at depths of up to 93 meters (300 ft), the LOREVA operation team recovered 50 lost crab traps and over 8 km of rope from the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Having perfected their retrieval technique with their SEAMOR ROV, the operators posted a record crab trap recovery time of just 6 minutes!

Congratulations to CERMIM on a successful operation! We wish you all the best on future operatives and look forward to working together again.
